Russia Investigative Committee: Additional arrests of Moscow terrorist financiers

“The terrorist is from Ukraine, so he received a large amount of cash and cryptocurrency.”
A total of 11 people, including 4 terrorists, were arrested and investigated.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) announced that it had additionally arrested a financial scheme related to a terrorist attack that occurred in the capital Moscow.

According to AP on the 28th (local time), the ICRF announced that it had detained another suspect involved in the firearms and explosives attack on the Crocus City Concert Hall that occurred on the 22nd as a means of financing the attack.

He claimed, “The terrorist received a significant amount of cash and cryptocurrency support from Ukraine.”

However, details such as the identity of the suspect or specific charges were not disclosed.

Before these additional arrests, Russian authorities had arrested and investigated 11 people, including 4 key suspects. It was found that many of the arrested suspects, including four terrorists, were of Tajik nationality.

Russian authorities denied the theory that the suspect died in custody.

Previously, a controversy over harsh treatment arose as traces of torture were clearly visible on the suspect who appeared in the courtroom. Not only did everyone have severely swollen or bruised faces, but there was also a suspect with a large bandage on his ear and a suspect who was in a wheelchair. There were local reports that the suspect’s ears were cut off while he was wearing bandages. On the 22nd, a terrorist attack occurred at the Krokus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, killing 143 people and injuring 360. The gunman who broke in fired an automatic rifle at the audience and set off an explosive, causing a fire. The Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K), which the United States identified as the mastermind, admitted the charges. However, Russia continues to raise suspicions that Ukraine is involved with the West.
