"The main opposition party is certain to win in all three by-elections in Japan, and the Liberal Democratic Party is completely defeated." – MBC News VRESP TODAY

Kyodo News and local public broadcaster NHK reported that according to the results of the exit poll for the Japanese House of Representatives (House of Representatives) by-election conducted today, candidates from the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party are certain to win in all three constituencies.

According to reports, the ruling Liberal Democratic Party also lost in Shimane 1st District, the only constituency in which it ran a candidate and was called a “conservative kingdom,” raising the possibility of a total defeat in this by-election.

The by-election on this day is an evaluation of the cabinet of Fumio Kishida, whose approval rating in major media opinion polls remains in the 20% range, at the level of a “resignation crisis,” due to the Liberal Democratic Party’s “slush fund scandal.”

Kyodo News predicted that, assuming a total defeat for the Liberal Democratic Party, “It will be a blow to the Kishida administration as all three seats were held by the Liberal Democratic Party.”
